The Hornet Enrichment Academy offers a supportive and innovative learning environment where students earn the required credits for graduation, participate in project-based learning activities, and gain valuable 21st century skills to enhance employment readiness. The Hornet Enrichment Academy promotes the success of all students by fostering academic excellence, citizenship, personal growth, and accountability through an academic and life skills curriculum. The foundation of the Hornet Enrichment Academy is the relationships that are established and developed between and other students, students and teachers, students and mentors, students and the community, and school and family. It is designed to be flexible to meet the unique needs of the individual participant through a relevant curriculum that engages students to increase their motivation so that they may achieve the goal of graduation from Beech Grove High School. The 1/2 day academic program provides a non-traditional learning environment for students who have not been successful in a traditional learning environment. Combined with an on-line curriculum, students become immersed in project-based, real world learning opportunities. In addition, HEA students receive career readiness learning opportunities through an active partnership with community members. HEA programming allows students the flexibility to maintain employment and earn credits for graduation while participating in service activities with other students.
