Contribute to Writing Tutorial Services

The Indiana University Foundation has established an endowment fund for Writing Tutorial Services and the CITL Writing Program.

As it grows, we hope to establish new programs that provide professional development opportunities to tutors and instructors, expand services to IU students, support research on writing-related topics, connect WTS alumni worldwide, and enrich writing-focused instruction.

Initially, however, we have modest hopes: this fund will be used for small items like tutor-recognition efforts and supporting peer tutors who wish to share their tutoring research and experiences at academic conferences. Peer tutors Rebekah Sims and Anna Connors, for instance, gave a presentation at the 2012 East Central Writing Centers Association Conference entitled, "No Walls, No Door: Meeting Student Needs in an Open-concept Writing Center." They're shown here in the WTS location in Wells Library—the subject of their presentation—discussing slides for their talk. In the future, we're hoping that travel and conference registration making such presentations possible can be funded by contributions to the foundation account.

Does Writing Tutorial Services figure in your IU memories or current experience? If so, we are hopeful you will consider contributing to the CITL Writing Program/Writing Tutorial Services Fund.

Giving is quite easy: Click "Give Now" below and follow the instructions.
