Molly Casey (Lane) is in her first year seeking her M.F.A. in acting. She earned her B.A. in theatre from Bloomsburg University. Clean House is her first Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center production. Previous roles include Oleanna (Carol) at Players & Players, In Arabia we’d all be Kings (Chickie) for Secret Room Theatre, And Baby Makes Seven (Ruth/Henri/Orphan) at the GLBT Theatre Festival, and Lady Windemere’s Fan (Ensemble) at Williamstown Theatre Festival. Molly is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. |

Alana Cheshire (Ana) is a junior majoring in vocal performance and theatre and drama. Clean House is Alana’s debut at the Norvelle Center. Her previous credits include the regional workshop Vote! (Angelica) as well as Songs for a New World (Woman 1) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Janet Weiss) at the John Waldron Arts Center. Alana is from Atlanta, Georgia. |

Stephanie Feeley (Matilde) is a junior majoring in theatre and drama. Clean House is her debut at the Norvelle Center. In 2006 she appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Perfect Children (Lucy). Last October she played Columbia in the Rocky Horror Show: Live in Bloomington. At IU she is a member of HoosOnFirst Improv Comedy Troupe and The Singing Hoosiers. Stephanie is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. |

Alex McCausland (Charles) is a first-year M.F.A. acting student at Indiana University. Clean House is his Norvelle Center debut. Previous appearances include Pushkin at Boldino (Narumov) for the Plays and Players Theatre; Noises Off (Lloyd Dallas) and Gypsy (Herbie) for the Madeline Wing Alder Theatre; Wit (Dr. Kelekian/Mr. Bearing) and Triumph of Love (Hermocrate) for the WCU Mainstage theatre. He has also made numerous appearances as the J.P Adler Studio Theatre, Tustin Studio Theatre, and Harvey Powers Theatre. |

Abby Rowold (Virginia) is a second-year M.F.A. student in acting. She received her B.A. in theatre from the University of Northern Iowa. At the Norvelle Center she appeared in An Ideal Husband (Mrs. Cheveley) and Dead Man Walking (Lucille). Abby has appeared at Brown County Playhouse in There Goes the Bride (Ursula) and Present Laughter (Monica Reed). Chicago credits: Top Girls (Joyce/Isabella Bird/Mrs. Kidd), The Crucible (Ann Putnam), Major Barbara (Barbara Undershaft), and Anna Karenina (Dolly). Abby is from Chicago, Illinois. |
PRODUCTION TEAM
Jonathan Michaelsen (Director) Jonathan Michaelsen is chair and producer of The Department of Theatre and Drama and the Brown County Playhouse. Professor Michaelsen has directed and acted in numerous professional and collegiate productions, including King Lear, Macbeth, Merchant of Venice, Sweeney Todd, Angels in America, and Uncle Vanya. At Indiana University Michaelsen has directed The Scarlet Letter, Arcadia and the world première of Reel, which was selected for regional honors by the American College Theatre Festival. He has had four productions selected for presentation at regional American College Theatre Festivals, with the production of Southern Girls receiving national recognition.
For the Brown County Playhouse, Michaelsen directed Same Time Next Year, The Glass Menagerie, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Arms and the Man. This summer Michaelsen directed the opera L’Orfeo for the Bloomington Early Music Festival and the Jacob School of Music.
Katie McDermott (Scenic Designer) is a second-year M.F.A. student in scenic design who earned a B.F.A. in theatre arts from Western Washington University. At the Norvelle Center Katie was scenic designer for Stop Kiss, and designed props for The America Play. She was scenic artist for 2009 Brown County season. Other credits: scenic designer for Convention (WWU); assistant scenic designer for Art, scenic artist for Urinetown (PCPA Theatrefest); scenic design/painting intern 2007-08 (Santa Maria, California); Northwest Drama Conference Scenic Design Meritorious Award (2007).
Erica Griese (Costume Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. student in costume design, who received her B.A. from Iowa State University. Previously for the Norvelle Center, she designed costumes for An Ideal Husband, The Wild Party and Metamorphoses. She also designed costumes for There Goes the Bride for Brown County Playhouse. ISU credits: Lunar Eclipse Complete (Modern Dance), Incorruptible, I Never Sang for My Father, and Fuddy Meers. Erica has worked for Glimmerglass Opera, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Great River Shakespeare Festival, and Wolf Trap Opera.
Robert A. Shakespeare (Lighting Designer) is professor of theatre and drama teaching lighting and heads the design and technology area. He was resident lighting designer at the Bristol Old Vic in England before moving to the United States. His more than 200 theatre, opera, and dance lighting designs have been seen on three continents at venues including the Theatre Royal (Bristol, England), St. Lawrence Center (Toronto), Lyric Theatre (Hong Kong), Randall Theatre (Utah Shakespeare Festival), and Indiana Repertory Theatre. Architectural credits include houses of worship, skyscrapers and some of the world’s largest bridges (Hong Kong). Recent work: art museum consulting; installations (Light Totem commissioned by IUAM); a lighting reconstruction with Darmstadt University of Hagia Sophia, Istanbul; virtual scenography research; and I.U. principle investigator for NIH grant Designing Visually Accessible Spaces. He incorporates computer visualization tools in his design practice and has presented lectures and workshops on his lighting design process in Asia, and throughout Europe and North America.
Michael Goodpaster (Sound Designer), a 21st Century Scholar, is a junior majoring in telecommunications. The Clean House is the first show he has worked on for the Norvelle Center. Michael is also the sound engineer for Campus Crusade. Michael is from Seymour, Indiana.
Allysa
Lytell (Sound Designer) is a sophmore majoring in gender studies and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. This is her first work in the Norvelle Center. She is from South Bend, Indiana.
Britney Kuehm (Stage Manager) is a senior majoring in telecommunications and theatre and drama. Clean House is her debut at the Norvelle Center. Last year she was the assistant stage manager for Godspell at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Britney is from Cleveland, Ohio.
Mark Kamie (Assistant Director) is in his first year at IU pursuing an M.F.A. in directing. He spent the last nine years in Chicago where he is a member of the BackStage Theatre Company. Mark served as director of new works for BackStage and directed Anton in Show Business. He also directed The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) for the City Attic Theatre in New York City. Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University.
Joseph Fernandez Jr. (Assistant Stage Manager) is a sophomore majoring in theatre and drama and vocal performance. Clean House is Joseph’s first production at the Norvelle Center. Previous credits include Vote! produced by Eric Anderson Jr., and Godspell at the Southern Indiana School for the Arts. He is a recipient of the IU recognition scholarship, Horseshoe Foundation of Indiana Scholarship, as well as the IU Music Faculty Award. Joseph is from New Albany, Indiana.
Adam Noble (Movement Coach/Combat Choreographer) is assistant professor of theatre and drama teaching movement/combat for the Department of Theatre and Drama. He is also a professional actor, with credits including Shakespeare in the Park (NYSF), Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, Julliard, P.S. 122, Seattle Rep, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, and On the Boards. In addition to his role as professor, Adam is a dancer, martial artist, traceur, and stuntman, with movement and combat credits in the worlds of film, theatre, and opera. Adam is a member of the Actors Equity Association, the Association of Theatre Movement Educators, and the Society of American Fight Directors. He has taught movement and stage combat in New York, California, Nebraska, Ohio, and Washington, and choreographed the violence for over 80 stage and film productions.
Nancy Lipschultz (Voice and Speech Coach), associate professor of theatre and drama teaching voice and speech, has worked as an actress in New York, California, Michigan, Texas and Chicago, including the new play series at Chicago’s Victory Gardens in High Holidays by Alan Gross, as well as overseas in London and is a veteran of six Fringe festivals in Edinburgh. She has worked on feature films, industrials, commercials, and, network television and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Actors’ Equity, and VASTA. Nancy has been a professor of acting, voice and directing at Cornell University, Ohio Wesleyan, and Wayne State University. Directing credits include: Evita, Much Ado About Nothing, Twilight Los Angeles, and Fires in the Mirror. She recently coached the New York City Opera production of Dead Man Walking, directed by Tony Award winner Leonard Foglia, and the National Tour of Kiss Me Kate. She is the voice for Lexus GPS systems for Inter Group Corporation, Tokyo.
