Photo of Allyson BloomAlyson Bloom (Cindy) is a senior majoring in Musical Theatre. She previously appeared in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Tintabula), Metamorphoses (Myrrha) Seussical the Musical (Bird Girl), Nine (Heidi Von Sturm), and Urinetown (Little Becky Two-Shoes) at the Norvelle Center and in The Tempest (Miranda), part of IU’s African Tempest Project in South Africa. Alyson sings in the IU Broadway Cabaret and the Singing Hoosiers and is recipient of the NSAL drama award. She is from Deerfield, Illinois.

 

 

 

Photo of Lovlee CarrollLovlee Carroll (Dee Dee), a senior earning a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and a minor in Psychology, placed second at the 2008 NSAL Musical Theatre Competition. She appeared in A Funny Thing…(Geminae), Seussical the Musical (Seussemble) and Nine (Maria) at the Norvelle Center, Godspell (Lauren) and Once on This Island (Ti Moune) at the Buskirk-Chumley, and the film The Wright Report (Priya) for Tele-Com. Lovlee is a member of the IU Broadway Cabaret. Her hometown is Hanover, Indiana.

 

 

 

 

Photo of Brandon CutrellBrandon Cutrell, AEA (Mr. Right, Johnny Angel, others) is a Bistro Award winner and a two-time winner of the MAC Award, an annual award given by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. Brandon is Host of The After Party, the wildly popular, weekly Friday night Broadway soiree at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street in Manhattan.  Time Out New York proclaims The After Party is “the thing to do in New York on a Friday night.”  Brandon’s New York credits include Broadway By The Year at Town Hall, Broadway Unplugged at Town Hall, Pippin (with Ben Vereen and Rosie O'Donnell), La Gioconda at TheatreSource, David Friedman's King Island Christmas, and Liz Swados' Waiting For Lefty.  National: Theatre of the Stars, Goodspeed Musicals, the Human Race Theatre, the Fulton Theatre and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  Brandon has a yearly engagement at Feinstein's, Michael Feinstein’s legendary nightclub on Park Avenue.  As part of New York’s Fashion Week last February, Brandon performed with Liza Minnelli and Rita Moreno for First Lady Laura Bush at the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show.  A proud member of Actors’ Equity and a native Hoosier, Brandon completed two years of study at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music before graduating from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre.  Brandon would like to offer thanks to George Pinney and Ray Fellman for inviting him to “come home” for the summer.

Photo of Allison MoodyAllison Moody (Marge) recently received her M.F.A. in Acting from Indiana University, and holds a B.F.A. from Drake University. Allison appeared in Pump Boys and Dinettes (RhettaCupp) and Lend Me a Tenor (Diana) at the Brown County Playhouse. Other credits: Man of La Mancha (Aldonza), The Odd Couple (Cecily) for Minnesota Repertory Theatre, and The Seagull (Arkadina), Twelfth Night (Viola) at the Lee Norvelle Center. Allison is a founding member of Chicago's Brown Couch Theatre Company. She is from Stilwell, Kansas.

 

 

Creative Team

George Pinney (Director) was nominated for a 2001 Tony Award and National Broadway Theatre Award in choreography. George received an Emmy Award for outstanding choreography for the PBS broadcast of Blast!  George, Professor of Theatre and Drama and Head of the B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, has directed and/or choreographed over 150 musical theatre productions for national and international tours, regional and university stages.  Recognized for his teaching, George was awarded the Friedrich Herman Lieber Award for Distinguished Teaching, 5 Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence in Teaching and membership in the Faculty Colloquium of Excellence in Teaching.

Ray Fellman (Music Director) BCP credits include Nunsense (I and II), Side by Side by Sondheim, Forever Plaid, The Fantasticks, and Tintypes. In New York, Ray was the M.D. for Stephen Schwartz’s Off-Broadway production of Captain Louie (Little Schubert Theater); Reluctant Pilgrim (Barrow Group); The Tutor (59 E. 59); Blood Drive (workshop-O’Neill Center Musical Theater Conference); Terazin (workshop – Zipper Theatre); A Room with a View (workshop, York Theater); John and Jen (Laurie Beechman Theatre); .22 Caliber Mouth (Ohio Theater). Ray was pianist/arranger for the Les Miserables contribution to the B.C.E.F.A. 2007 Easter Bonnet Competition at the Minskoff Theater with Tess Adams and Anne Runolfsson. Ray was M.D. for the 2007 Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs Awards at B.B. King’s and received a 2007 Backstage Magazine Bistro Award for his musical direction of The After Party, hosted by Brandon Cutrell, featuring Broadway’s finest Friday nights at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street. 

Fred M. Duer and Alan K. Okazaki (Scenic Designers) Fred and Alan’s credits include the world premiere of The Scandalous Adventures of Sir Toby Trollope at the San Diego Repertory Theatre; where Alan also designed the premiere of SUDS.  He subsequently designed many productions of SUDS around the United States and Canada including off-Broadway.  As a team, Fred and Alan designed over 300 half hour situation comedy episodes for network television, including “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”, “In The House”, “City Guys” and “Saved By The Bell, The New Class”; as well as the independent film “Fits and Starts”.  Alan is a fiscal officer in Financial Management for IU where Fred heads the M.F.A. Scenic Design program in the Department of Theatre and Drama. Fred’s designs for The Brown County Playhouse include, “Forever Plaid”, “Greater Tuna”, “Smoke On The Mountain”, and “Pump Boys and Dinettes”.  Both are members of United Scenic Artist Local 829.

Robbie Stanton (Costume Designer) is the costume studio supervisor for all Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center and Brown County Playhouse productions. Most recently, Robbie designed the costumes for Jimmy Cory, and Nine. Selected designs: Sweet Charity, Parade, Woyzeck, Guys and Dolls, Hurlyburly, Anything Goes, Twelfth Night, Pippin, Brigadoon, and the IU Broadway Cabaret tour. He also has designed costumes for the Brown County Playhouse productions of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown; Something’s Afoot; A Tuna Christmas; Forever Plaid; Lend Me a Tenor; Tintypes; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Pump Boys and Dinettes, and countless others. Outside designs include Marisol, Goodnight Desdemona, Visiting Mr. Green, and three years with the Star of Indiana Brass Theatre. Robbie has also worked as a dyer for such theatres as the Old Globe Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse. He is a member of I.A.T.S.E local 893. JoJo Percy (Lighting Designer) completed her M.F.A. in Lighting Design this May. Lighting design credits include: Pump Boys and Dinettes at BCP, The Seagull, Seussical the Musical, Nine, The Birthday Party, and Honour at the Norvelle Center, and Tigrane for the Bloomington Early Music Festival. JoJo served as Assistant Lighting Designer on A Christmas Carol (2007, 2006), Death of a Salesman at Indianapolis Repertory Theatre, Falstaff for the Indianapolis Opera. JoJo’s undergraduate degree is from Kansas State University, and she is from Americus, Kansas.

Andrew Hopson (Sound Designer) is Assistant Professor of Sound Design in the Department of Theatre and Drama. Andrew received his B.A. from Grinnell College, his M.M. from Butler University and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He has designed shows at such theatres as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Repertory Theatre, American Players Theatre, Metro Theatre of St. Louis, Milwaukee Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Victory Gardens, Harvard University, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre, where he was resident sound designer for five years. 2004 saw his New York debut with Trying, which was rated one of the best Off-Broadway shows of the year. As a musician, recording engineer, and producer, he has released over 30 CDs ranging from Baroque works to audio books.  His film work includes Utah's Olympic Legacy, Hockey’s Greatest Era 1942-1967, and The Birth of Legends.

Jayme O’Hara (Stage Manager) is a junior in the Individualized Major Program in Stage Management as well as receiving a BA in Theatre & Drama. She was Assistant Stage Manager for Measure for Measure at the Norvelle Center this past fall. Jayme was also the Stage Manager for this spring’s The Pillowman, as well as, Assistant Stage Manager for last spring’s Slip, Stumble, Fall both for University Players where she currently is the Production Manager. Jayme is from Elkhart, Indiana.

Jared Rutherford (Assistant Scenic Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. student in Scenic Design with B.A. in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz. He designed Measure for Measure and Big Love at the Norvelle Center. Last summer he designed My Fair Lady, The Dresser, Irma La Douce, and Anna Christie at the Monomoy Theatre in Cape Cod. At SUNY New Paltz he received the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region Two set design award for his Anything Goes design. He is from DeRuyter, New York.

Ryan Gohsman (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior double-majoring in Theatre and Drama concentrating in Performance and Stage Management and English with a concentration in Dramatic Literature. Previously, he served as Assistant Stage Manager for the Norvelle Center production of The Seagull, and appeared in Measure for Measure (Elbow) and The Crucible (Witness). He worked on Mack and Mabel, Caroline, or Change, and All About Bette at Theatre Three. He will be Stage Managing 2008’s Marisol at the Norvelle Center. Ryan is from Plano, Texas.
