Teaching Responsibilities

Course focusing on clinical issues for those enrolled in Audiology practicum.

Clinical/Research Interests

My primary clinical interests include pediatric testing, counseling and rehabilitative services. The I.U. Hearing Clinic serves a relatively large pediatric population. I am particularly interested in the initial diagnosis of educationally-significant hearing loss and counselling families in the initial stages of diagnosis and rehabilitation.

I also have an interest in the clinical application of current amplification technology (devices, fitting protocols, and surveys of hearing aid benefit) for patients of all ages. The I.U. Hearing Clinic has access to the most current advances in hearing aid technology and computer programs designed to help in the fitting of hearing aids and determining hearing aid benefit. We are fortunate to be able to provide these services to all of our hearing-impaired patients.

I am currently involved in a research project on Hearing Aid Benefit in Geriatric patients directed by Dr. Larry Humes. This project is a five-year federally funded grant designed to study the factors resulting in successful hearing aid use in patients 60 - 85 years old.
