Carolyn GarnerClinical Assistant Professor Teaching Responsibilities
Clinical/Research InterestsMy chief interest involves teaching audiology graduate students how to apply their classroom knowledge to the clinic situation. The ultimate goal is an independent, competent clinician. The Hearing Clinic boasts a diverse and busy patient load. I'm especially interested in the identification and habilitation of children with hearing loss. In addition I enjoy the challenge involved in working with difficult-to-test populations, such as developmentally disabled adults. I have recently completed involvement in a five-year research study involving assessment of the benefit of hearing aid use in the geriatric population. Funding for the study was obtained from NIH by Dr. Larry Humes.
