Announcing the SPHS PhD Organization!

Date added: September 17, 2008

The Speech and Hearing Sciences Ph.D. Organization (SPHS PhD Org), founded in the spring of 2008, is a student run organization, which seeks to help doctoral students develop the skills and contacts needed to pursue research careers in the areas of speech, language, and hearing sciences. To this end, our organization will host the Department’s 2008-09 colloquium series, bringing notable researchers from within and outside of Indiana University to our department and providing a relaxed venue for learning, collaboration, and networking with those already established in the field of research. The group will also engage in a yearlong thematic discussion of “setting up a lab” to learn more about the logistical, day-to-day, and long-term planning aspects of research. Finally, the SPHS PhD Org provides an informal venue in which PhD students are able to interact and converse about the experiences of being a PhD student.
