IU's Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis renamed for Elinor and Vincent Ostrom

Indiana University has renamed the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis to honor Elinor Ostrom and Vincent Ostrom, who founded the interdisciplinary research center in 1973. The name change was approved today by the IU Board of Trustees.

IU professor Elinor Ostrom named to Time’s list of 100 most influential people

Ostrom, a 2009 Nobel Prize laureate, is Distinguished Professor and Arthur F. Bentley Professor of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at IU Bloomington. She is also a professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and senior research director at the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis.

Phil Stevens, a preeminent scholar on air quality and climate change, has been appointed as the Rudy Professor of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.

Scientist Michael Mann to speak at IU Bloomington on ‘Climate Wars’

Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State, will speak on “The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars” at 8 p.m. on April 17 in the Georgian Room of the Indiana Memorial Union. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Alice Rivlin, economist and former U.S. Cabinet official, speaking at IU on April 5

Rivlin's lecture will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Room 1050 of the Godfrey Graduate and Executive Education Center of the IU Kelley School of Business, 1275 E. 10th St. Also hosting Rivlin is the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
