Polish Studies Minor

Minor in Polish Studies - BulletinStudents must complete 18 credit hours of area-related coursework in three different departments. At least 15 credit hours must be in the College of Arts and Sciences All courses should be selected in consultation with the REEI Advisor, and must include:

  1. One language course at the level of P202 or above (3 cr.)
  2. 9 credit hours in core courses, chosen from at least two different departments. Up to three credit hours may be taken as independent study. Variable topic courses which focus predominantly on Poland may also count as core courses.

    • Courses taken in the study abroad program at the Centre for European Studies at Jagiellonian University, Kraków (sponsored by the Polish Studies Center), may also count toward the core or related areas, depending on the focus.
  3. 6 credit hours in courses in related areas; courses from a third department should be included here if the core courses are not chosen from at least three departments.

  4. Minor must include at least 9 hours of 300/400 level work.

Courses below may also be included, but the student must submit evidence that some portion of the course, including written work, dealt with Poland, alone or comparatively. Similarly, students may present evidence of Polish-related work in other courses not listed here.
