Professor Emeritus of Philosophy. University of California, Los Angeles, M.A. 1963, Ph.D. 1966. His areas of special interest are logic and formal semantics; philosophy of mathematics, language, and science; artificial intelligence and cognitive science; metaphysics and comparative formal ontology; Montague grammar and philosophical linguistics; and Indian philosophy. He is a member of the editorial board of Synthese and Indices: Monographs in Philosophical Logic and Formal Linguistics. He has been both an NEH and an NSF fellow. |
