Description

Cinema is the art form closest to music. Music has an undeniably important role in film, which will be demonstrated with clips from renowned directors such as Satyajit Ray and the Taviani brothers, citing their masterful and influential use of music. They demonstrate the ability of music to heighten the emotional shape and impact of a scene. Music and image can also transform each other via juxtaposition, affecting the audience’s perspectives on narrative, character, and theme, producing emotions and ideas that do not exist in the image alone.
