Some of the students who took the course in the summer of 2008 have volunteered to answer questions about their experiences. Just email me at dpace@indiana.edu, and I will send you their email addresses. In the meantime here are the comments and photos from one of them.

" With only one year left as an undergraduate, Professor Pace's class on 19th -Century Paris has been probably my best experience at IU. This program provides very rare hands-on learning; when else can you learn about history while walking the streets where it actually happened rather than in a classroom? It goes without saying that Paris is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and Professor Pace's experience provided me with a great appreciation (adoration, actually!) and familiarity with the city. The small class size is ideal for this program, giving you the unique opportunity to interact one-on-one with a professor . . .Living and exploring with just a handful of other students was SO MUCH fun and created a number of lasting friendships. I would recommend this class to absolutely any student for so many reasons: the intriguing course content, the knowledge of the city, the relationships formed, and the chance to study abroad without committing to a whole year or semester. And of course because Professor Pace ROCKS."
