Virginia A. Caine, M.D.
Dr. Virginia A. Caine is Director of the Marion County Health Department and Associate Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine Infectious Disease Division.
Dr. Caine is active in several professional societies including: National Medical Association; National Association of County & City Health Officials; Centers for Disease Control & Prevention; Council on Education for Public Health; Department of Health & Human Services Steering Committee for the Bright Futures for Women’s Health and Wellness Initiative; RWJ Foundation, National Advisory Committee for Common Ground; RWJ Foundation, Leadership for Healthy Communities Advisory Board; to name a few.
Local board commitments include: Indiana AIDS Fund; IU School of Nursing Advisory Board; Indianapolis Alliance for Health Promotion; Indianapolis Woman; Indiana Health Information Exchange, Inc.; Fairbanks Institute, and Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and medical degree at New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
