(1 Year Poetry) Britt Ashley was born and raised in Dallas, Texas but more recently hails from Washington state where she graduated from Western Washington University in 2012. A former student and teacher at Bent Queer Writing Institute in Seattle, she believes that making art is a necessary act of resistance. She enjoys kale, cussing, running long distances, and is honored to be the 2012 recipient of the Yusef Komunyakkaa Fellowship. |
