Residents | Residency Requirements
There’s always something happening at Collins. We’ve set it up so residents get acclimated to--and provide for--the community immediately. Here’s how:
- Freshmen take Q199, a 1-credit-hour residential learning workshop.
- Freshmen and sophomores take one 3-credit-hour Collins seminar per academic year. These are classes that a board of student peers (BOEP) helps choose. Some Collins Options courses count for this requirement as well.
- If not enrolled in a seminar, Collins freshmen and sophomores may instead have active participation in the Board of Educational Programming (BOEP) and course selection process or teach a BOEP-approved "short course."
- A $100 activity fee per semester goes toward diverse programming, organizations, and resources (allocated by a student-run Fee Committee.)
