Professor Daniel Dinnsen has been selected as one of three new Chancellor's Professors by the Dean of the Faculties Chancellor's Professor Selection Committee. This award recognizes Dan as one of Indiana University's most outstanding faculty, not only for his research accomplishments, but also for his success in bringing research into the classroom and diverse mentoring activities.

The title of Chancellor's Professor is reserved for IUB professors who have achieved local, national and international distinction in teaching, in research or creative activity, and in the interaction between teaching and research. The designation is an effort to emphasize the link between teaching and research and to reward teaching in the same vein as research.

The honor includes a cash award of $2,500 for each of the next three years, and a grant of $5,000 to be used during the next three years on a project of the professor's choice that demonstrates how teaching and research are mutually reinforcing.

The Department of Linguistics is very proud to have such talented faculty as Dan Dinnsen.
