A motion was introduced in 2008 that the IULC restructure its officer positions to do accomodate changes in the structure and responsibilities of the club. A proposal was generated that would divide the officer positions into four 'teams' of that would be responsible for more general functions within the club and would provide support for one another. The teams generated were 1) Executive (the president and department chair/club sponsor), 2) Activities (the vice president and colloquium coordinator), 3) Financial (the business manager and treasurer, 4) Operations (secretary and undergrad rep).

This proposal was voted upon and passed in the 2009 IULC elections and has thus been adopted in the by-laws of the IULC constitution.
