My primary field of research is experimental nuclear physics. Within this field I specialize in investigations of polarization effects in nuclear scattering, particularly in few nucleon systems and light nuclei. Topics of my past publications have included: nucleon-nucleon elastic scattering, charge symmetry violation, radiative capture in few nucleon systems and the spin structure of 3He. I also maintain an interest in the technology for making precision polarization measurements, such as polarized targets and ion sources, polarization standards and new techniques in storage rings and have published in these areas.
I along with some of my colleagues here at IU have recently joined the STAR collaboration at RHIC. The main goal of the experiment is to find the quark gluon plasma. We are interested in the high energy spin physics that will be done with the detector, particularly measuring the fraction of the spin of a proton carried by gluons.
