12/6/04 - Alan Kostelecký has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society. The citation will read: “For his seminal contributions to the understanding and testing of spacetime symmetries and for the development of a theoretical framework for investigations of relativity violations.”  The announcement of elections to Fellowship will appear in the March 2005 issue of APS News .

8/3/04 - The Third Meeting on CPT and Lorentz Symmetry organized by Alan Kostelecky will be held in the Indiana University, Physics Department August 4-7, 2004.

7/9/04 - Matthew Shephard, who will be joining the department Fall 2005, was featured in the Spring 2004 issue of "On Target" the newsletter for the Thomas Jefferson National Laboratory. [Click here to see his story on pp. 12-13]

6/28/04 - Andrzej Zieminski, Rick Van Kooten and the D0 Project have been involved in calculating the mass of the Higgs Boson according to an article in Nature 429, 638-642 (June 10, 2004) . 3/29/04 - Keith Turpin, a junior in our undergraduate program, was awarded a Goldwater scholarship this year. IU nominates only 4 students for these awards each year, and only 300 are awarded nationwide. Congratulations to Keith!

He also has an article, "Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics Comes of Age", published in the February issue of Physics Today, p. 45. Also, V.
