Welcome to Indiana University (IU) Bloomington's interactive online campus map. This map service uses advanced Web technology to offer you the best possible navigation experience. As a result, you may need to enable some special browser options to make full use of the map's features, especially JavaScript.
You can move the viewable area of the map by clicking and holding down your mouse button on the map itself. When the cursor changes from the normal single arrow to four pointed direction arrows (or a hand in some browsers), simply move your mouse in the direction you would like to drap the map.
In addition, when you zoom in to view the map, you can find a compass rose (see Figure 1) in the lower right-hand corner of the map. Not only does the compass indicate which direction is North ("N"), but each arrow of the rose allows you to move the viewable area of the map in that direction simply by clicking and holding down your mouse button on the arrow.
Figure 1: The compass roseWhen viewing the interactive campus map, there are additional navigation controls located in the grey horizontal bar at the bottom of your browser window.
One of these buttons is "Full Campus View", which will open a small window that shows the entire campus map and which area of the map you are currently viewing, indicated by a red box. You can quickly move to any other area of the map by clicking your mouse on the area of the map you would like to view. This maintains whatever level of magnification you are currently using to view the map.
To make the viewable area of the map larger or smaller, there is a zoom control slider bar located in the lower left-hand corner (see Figure 2).
Zoom in by clicking the "+" symbol or moving the slider up. Zoom out by clicking the "-" symbol or moving the slider down. You should also be able to zoom in and out using the scroll wheel on your mouse (if you have one). There are five zoom levels available to view.
If you do not immediately see the "Campus Locations: IU Building Names" list, click the "Campus Locations" button in the grey horizontal bar at the bottom of the map to open the list within the map.
Select the name of the building or location you wish to view from the list. The map will zoom in to that location and open a small window which provides more information about the building, including its name, street address, official IU building number, and the 2-letter academic building code used in the Schedule of Classes.
We offer a print-friendly campus map which you can download and carry with you. This full-color 3D campus map is formatted to fit on two standard letter size (8.5 x 11") pages; one page is the map and one page for a list of campus building names and abbreviations.
