One of the  largest sources of funding assisting IU-Bloomington undergraduates in pursuing various educational opportunities overseas is the  Hutton International Experiences Program (HIEP) . The grant is available to any IU Bloomington undergraduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher OR a major GPA of 3.7 or higher. You do not have to be in the Hutton Honors College to receive the grant. Awards range from $500-$2500.  For application material, go to

The Gilman Scholarship is a national scholarship (up to $3000 for summer/$5000 for semester study) available to students who demonstrate financial need. To be eligible to apply, a student must receive a Pell grant as part of their financial aid package, and be applying to or accepted to a study abroad program longer than four weeks.  The student application deadline for summer, fall and academic year 2012 programs is Thursday, March 1st.  To apply, go to .   If you are unsure whether or not you receive a Pell Grant, you can access your financial aid award summary in the Student Center on OneStart.
