What is AlcoholEdu for College?
AlcoholEdu for College
offers a confidential, personalized experience for each student. The
course includes:
- 5 modules of
alcohol-related content
- Personalized
feedback
- Interactive
exercises
- Access to a student
social networking site
Must freshmen
students take this course?
Yes! It is required for all first-year IUB students; failure
to take the course results in a stop on course registration for the
second semester (checklisting). Students must complete BOTH parts of the
course to be finished, including retakes if the student fails the first
portion of the course.
What is the passing
score?
Students must score 75% or higher on the exam in order to
pass the course.
How does the student
log-in?
Go to: http://www.iub.edu/~iualcedu
and follow the instructions online. Students use their IU user names and
pass-phrases to enter the AlcoholEdu site.
What if there are
technical issues while taking AlcoholEdu?
Call the Outside the Classroom tech support line 24/7 at 1-866-384-9062.
What are
the deadlines?
Part 1 (Modules, pre/post tests, exam) must be completed by no later
than August 22. Part 2 (Final survey) must be completed by October 10.
How long
is it?
Part 1 will take 2-3 hours, in multiple sittings; Part 2 will take only
about 15 minutes.
Where can
other questions be directed?
Write alcedu@indiana.edu with other questions.
Do
parents participate?
Yes! Parents are also offered an AlcoholEdu for Parents course; it is
accessed at the same Web site as the course for students and is highly
encouraged.
Thank you!
