Visit IU

Overnight Visits

See what it’s like to be an IU student for a day. Through our Hoosier Overnight Student Team (HOST) program, high school juniors and seniors can:

  • Shadow a HOST student
  • Spend one night in a residence hall
  • Attend classes
  • Participate in campus activities

Schedule Your Visit

The HOST program is no longer accepting overnight visit requests for the fall semester. Spring visit dates will become available mid-January with vists beginning in February. In the meantime, please contact us if you have any questions.

Hosts

Our HOSTs are undergraduates who are members of the Office of Admissions Student Ambassador Program. They had many of your same questions and concerns as high school students, and we encourage you to ask them about their own college search process and experiences.

Cost

Your residence hall accommodations are free. You will be expected to pay for any meals during your stay. We also encourage you to bring money for any activities or entertainment in which you might participate.

Your Responsibilities

As an IU guest, you are expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the university, which are designed to build a friendly, caring, and safe atmosphere. When staying in a residence hall, all of the rules and regulations that apply to IU students will apply to you. Please review the Residence Hall Rules and Regulations and the IU Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct for specific information about these rules.

We expect you to accept responsibility for your own actions and for any mishap that might befall you as a result of those actions. In return, Indiana University will accept responsibility for any mishap, loss, or injury that is caused entirely as a result of a wrongful act on the part of its employees or agents. You must complete the Overnight Release Information as a part of your online registration in order to participate.
