Indiana University is located in Bloomington, Indiana (pop. 69,000).
Nestled in the wooded hills of southern Indiana, Bloomington is a one-hour
drive from Indianapolis, the state's capital. With its central location in
the heart of the Midwest, Bloomington is easy to get to by car or plane.
Parking
Complimentary parking for your visit will be on the upper level of the Jordan Avenue Parking Garage, located just south of the Office of Admissions. Take a ticket as you enter the upper level of the parking garage. There are stairs to exit the garage on the northwest corner of the upper level. When you check-in at the Office of Admissions you will be given a parking pass which will allow you to leave the parking garage free of charge. You will need to show the attendant the ticket you received when you entered the garage and the parking pass given to you in admissions.
Traveling to IU by Car
Following are suggested driving directions from some of the major
roadways as you near Bloomington. Please consult a map prior to your
departure to determine if there might be a more appropriate route.
From the North
Take State Road 37 South to the first Bloomington exit (Walnut
Street/College Avenue). Proceed 3.5 miles to the second stoplight. Turn
left onto State Road 45/46 and drive .7 mile to the second stoplight
(Indiana State Police Post is on the right). Turn right onto Fee Lane and
continue to Tenth Street. Turn left onto Tenth Street and continue until
you reach the first stop light (Jordan Avenue). Turn right onto Jordan
Avenue. Continue straight through the first stop sign. The Office of
Admissions is the second building on the left. Complimentary parking is in the upper level of the Jordan Avenue Parking Garage, located just south of the Office of Admissions (see above for parking information).
From the West and Southwest
Take State Road 45 or 48 to State Road 37 and continue heading north.
Take the Bloomington exit for 45 North/46 East. Continue straight off the
ramp to the fourth stoplight (Indiana State Police Post is on the right).
Turn right onto Fee Lane and continue to Tenth Street. Turn left onto
Tenth Street and continue until you reach the first stop light (Jordan
Avenue). Turn right onto Jordan Avenue. Continue straight through the
first stop sign. The Office of Admissions is the second building on the

From the Northwest
Follow State Road 46 into Bloomington. Cross over State Road 37 and
continue to the fourth stoplight (Indiana State Police Post is on the
right). Turn right onto Fee Lane and continue to Tenth Street. Turn left
onto Tenth Street and continue until you reach the first stop light
(Jordan Avenue). Turn right onto Jordan Avenue. Continue straight through

From the South
Take State Road 37 North to the Bloomington exit for 45 North/46 East.

Take State Road 46 to Bloomington. SR46 becomes East Third Street.
Continue on Third Street and turn right onto Jordan Avenue. Complimentary parking is in the upper level of the Jordan Avenue Parking Garage (see above for parking information). The Office of Admissions is located north of the Jordan Avenue Parking Garage.

Traveling to IU by Air
From the Indianapolis International Airport, you can take the
Bloomington Shuttle Service or a limousine to IU.
The Bloomington Shuttle Service offers round-trip
transportation between the airport and Bloomington seven days a week, nine

Traveling to IU by Bus
A number of services provide convenient transportation to enable our out- of- state students to easily get home for holidays and campus breaks.

The Shuttle picks up and delivers from four different Bloomington locations, including the Indiana Memorial Union, nine times a day.
Catch-A-Ride: 866- 622-8242 www.catcharide.com For Chicagoland students, this direct student-only bus service operates during all key holidays, on select weekends, and semester breaks, providing non-stop transportation from the Indiana Memorial Union to Chicago’s Woodfield Mall and Oakbrook Center.
Hoosier Bus: 866- 723-RIDE http://hoosierbus.com/ Chicagoland students can take this direct, all-student bus service from Bloomington to Chicago for holiday runs, intersession breaks and on select weekends. The service picks students up at The Memorial Union and McNutt residence hall and makes Chicago drop-offs at Oakbrook Center and Woodfield Mall. Tickets are $94 round trip.
