Step into the spotlight

Whether you want to pursue a career in music, theatre, or art, or you just want a creative outlet, IU offers lots of ways to express yourself:

• African American Arts Institute ensembles (above)
• WIUX student radio and IU Student Television productions
• Canvas creative arts magazine and Labyrinth literary magazine
• Opera and Ballet Theater productions at the renowned Musical Arts Center
• Grunwald Gallery exhibitions
• The Marching Hundred, a top collegiate marching band
• Straight No Chaser and Ladies First a cappella groups
• Plays and musicals at the Department of Theatre and Drama and through community organizations such as Cardinal Stage Company and the Bloomington Playwrights Project
• The Singing Hoosiers show choir
• Comedy groups, dance clubs, and other student organizations

1,500+ cultural performances each year

Even if you don’t star in IU performances, you can still enjoy them. The variety is amazing, from all the options listed above to films at the new, state-of-the-art IU Cinema. Free, recently released Union Board films. Concerts by artists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma to Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. Performances at the IU Auditorium by Jon Stewart, Blue Man Group, and the touring company of Avenue Q.
