Housing

Your housing assignment is given priority based on the date we receive your preferences, so you’ll want to submit your housing contract and application as soon as you’re admitted to Indiana University. There are two ways to submit your housing contract.

  1. Complete the housing contract and application online, or
  2. Download and fill out the appropriate housing contract and application form, and send it by e-mail to rps [at] indiana.edu or by U.S. mail to: Indiana University Residential Programs and Services, 801 N. Jordan Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47405-2107.

If you have a preference for a specific learning community, neighborhood, roommate, or room type, you need to indicate this on the housing contract and application form. Students who would like to room together should request each other as roommates and list their housing preferences in identical order. If the preference lists are not identical and/or the applications are submitted on different dates, the Division of Residential Programs and Services honors the date of the first housing form received when making housing assignments.

There is a $300 deposit required when submitting the contract; however, all but $100 is refundable if you choose not to accept IU’s offer of admission and notify the RPS Assignments Office prior to July 1.
