Services We Offer

The services we provide are essential to the academic function of the School of HPER and its needs in pedagogy, instructional technology, and distributed education. Below is an overview of our core services:

  • Consultation
    In the areas of teaching and course evaluation as well as helping to match instructional needs with pedagogically sound technical solutions. We also help instructors identify areas for improvement or innovations.

  • Development
    In the area of instructional design or course revision, both individual courses and curricula, both traditional and technology-based.

  • Instructional Application Development
    Including the building of web-based learning modules, online quizzes, multimedia demonstrations, CD-ROM and DVD courseware development and production.

  • Digital Media Support and Development
    Through the digital editing studio in ICTS, we provide the following services:

    • Digitizing existing VHS video footage
    • Editing and the production of digital video and audio clips for instruction, presentations, and conferences
    • Delivery of digital media via CD-ROM/DVD, Web, or streaming
    • Training on video shooting and editing
    • Acquisition consulting: advice on purchasing digital cameras, camcorders, or editing software

  • Workshops
    Including training in instructional design in both the traditional classroom settings and the Internet Age.

  • Training
    Small class, one-on-one hands-on training with web and learning application building software, and IU-specific web-based tools such as Oncourse and Post’Em.

  • Support
    In pedagogical, technical, development, and management for all of School of HPER’s tradition and technology-based courses.

  • Resources
    Including ongoing information containing ideas, developments, best practices from the current eLearning literature, and funding opportunities for instructional technology projects.
