Next Monday, February 20 at 6 pm, we will enjoy the second Finnish Movie Night of the semester. I hope to see you all there!

We will watch Laitakaupungin valot (Lights in the Dusk, 2006), a movie directed by our very famous director Aki Kaurismäki.
Laitakaupungin valot is the final installment of his “Suomi-trilogia”, a trilogy of three films that concentrates on viewing Finland through the eyes of underprivileged Finnish people.
Laitakaupungin valot is a story of a man who gets caught up in a series of misadventures after meeting a femme fatale.

The conference aims to pursue a new pathway for advocating innovative approaches in research and practices, maximizing professional exchanges and collaboration among LCTL educators, and leveraging resources and strengths in the less commonly taught languages community. We cordially invite researchers, practitioners, program developers, and administrators in the LCTL community organizations to submit proposals and attend the conference. The 2017 NCOLCTL Conference is scheduled for April 21-23, 2017, with pre-conference workshops scheduled for April 20th, 2017

Today the IAUNRC sat down to speak with Elina, the 2015-2016 FLTA from Finland. Elina llmapallo will assist Finnish Instructor Mikko Taurama with beginning, intermediate, and advanced Finnish language classes for the 2015-2016 Academic Year.
