Program Benefits

Studies show that most students decide to leave college due to three specific reasons: 1) lack of funding; 2) academics; or 3) unwelcoming atmosphere. Hudson & Holland was created to combat these hurdles to ensure students have every opportunity to be successful at Indiana University and beyond.

Hudson & Holland provides a base scholarship of $6,000 per year, for up to eight consecutive semesters not to exceed four years from the time you start an undergraduate education. Additionally, many students qualify for additional funding through HHSP campus partnerships. It is possible for a HHSP student to receive up to $12,000 per year as a Hudson & Holland Scholar in academic scholarships! These and other scholarship opportunities for being in the Hudson & Holland Scholars Program can be found at the Office of Scholarships website.

Academic Support

We understand how important it is for talented students to be successful at IU. Every HHSP Scholar is assigned to an HHSP Program Advisor. These advisors take a holistic approach to assisting students with all of their needs, including: academic, financial, psychosocial, cultural, and transitional issues. HHSP Advisors ensure student success by refering students to a variety of resources and student support services.

Indiana University’s student body is approximately 48,000 students strong! Many of our students come from areas outside the state of Indiana. This can be intimidating for some and an adventure for others. For those who may find this to be a challenge, it is comforting to know that IU’s large campus can become smaller through the support of HHSP staff and students.

HHSP is comprised of over 1,400 students. Any class you take, it is likely you will see a fellow Hudson & Holland Scholar in your class. Whether in class, at a student activity, or a campus event, you will likely encounter fellow Hudson & Holland Scholars. Our students participate in social and political activities, civic engagement, leadership opportunities, and much more.
