Programs & Opportunities
Chi Alpha Epsilon Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE) is a national honor society. The Alpha Delta Chapter is hosted by the Groups Program. Chi Alpha Epsilon's goals are to promote continued high academic standards, to foster increased communication among its members, and to honor academic excellence achieved by those students admitted to college via developmental programs. Eligible students must have a 3.0 overall GPA and two consecutive semesters of a 3.0 GPA. If you are interested in becoming a member of XAE please complete an online application. In addition to this online application, you will be required to submit one letter of recommendation from a university staff or faculty member. Groups Emerging Leaders Groups promotes the development of future leaders through the Emerging Leaders program--supporting our students as they become integral and effective leaders on campus.
Outstanding junior and senior Groups students are invited to become ambassadors for the program. Groups Ambassadors assist the staff with programs and presentations and serve as mentors to incoming Groups students. Peer Advising
Assistants, Tutors, and Instructors Students helping students is a key philosophy behind the Groups program. Peer advising assistants are trained to help the incoming class with fall registration and other programs, and peer tutors and instructors help guide students through their academic course work. Learning Communities Students participate in "shared learning"
by taking classes together and , in some cases, living together.
Incoming Groups students can enroll in Navigation Through College Life, a
seminar that introduces intellectual, cultural, academic, and health
resources that will help them adapt to college. All Groups students
also participate in seminars designed to offer an introduction to their
major course of study.
