The GradGrants Center (GGC) is a free service of the University Graduate School. It is open to all currently enrolled graduate students within the Indiana University system.
- on a variety of funding-related topics (tailored upon request for specific classes, departments programs or organizations)
- bi-weekly database search training, walk-in hours and search sessions in the Social Science Research Commons in Woodburn Hall. (See right sidebar for dates for the current semester)
~ Consultations: one-on-one proposal drafting advising sessions with our award-winning consultants are available for any external (non-IU) funding opportunity:
- in-person in the GGC
- virtually via Skype, Adobe Connect or Lync
- by email and/or phone for clients away from campus.
Walk-in appointments are rarely available. Our schedule usually fills up at least a week in advance during the busy grant season (August-November and January-March).

Finding funding for graduate school can be a daunting undertaking. Even for students who have financial support from their departments, the costs of graduate study–taking courses, studying foreign languages, attending conferences, accessing primary sources, creating works of art, running experiments, completing novel research, and all the things IU’s talented graduate students do–can easily surpass the grad student budget. But there are many potential funding opportunities out there that can give you the resources to complete your degree, if you know where to find them and how to write persuasive grant proposals for varied audiences.
The GGC can help you throughout this process, so to find the resources most relevant to your needs:

Hours: Our weekly hours vary each semester. They are posted at the far right of the homepage for the current term. The GGC is closed anytime classes are out of session, Exam Week, all University-observed holidays and anytime Wells East Tower is closed.
Location: We are located in the East Tower of Wells Library, 6th floor, Room 651, on the Bloomington campus.
