Roger S. Wieck, Curator of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts at the Lilly Library; he has also held curatorial positions at the Walters Art Museum and the Houghton Library at Harvard. He is the author of The Prayer Book of Claude de France (2010), The Hours of Henry VIII: A Renaissance Masterpiece by Jean Poyet (2000), Painted Prayers: The Book of Hours in Medieval and Renaissance Art (1997), Time Sanctified: The Book of Hours in Medieval Art and Life (1988), and many other books and articles on medieval manuscripts.

Join us for this talk given by writer and journalist Regine Richter McClain, who witnessed the events surrounding the fall of the wall as a reporter and editor for German Public Radio (ARD). She became a freelance correspondent for ARD in Louisiana in 1991 and now lives in Bloomington. For more information, please see the flyer

The Ryder Film Series is sponsoring a 2013 German -language film, LORE

Synopsis: Left to fend for themselves after their SS officer father and mother, staunch Nazi believers, are interred by the victorious Allies at the end of World War II, five German children undertake a harrowing journey to reach their grandmother in the north that exposes them to the reality and consequences of their parents' actions. (Germany; 2013; 109 min)
