Graduate Studies
Indiana University is the "go to" place in Gender...

The  Department of Gender Studies began the first and only doctorate in the nation specifically in gender studies in the fall of 2006. We also offer a Ph.D. minor.  We are now accepting applications for our next cohort for 2008-09 admission.

To apply use the link at left "Apply to the Program"

Our program builds on several decades of feminist work in women's studies and deliberately integrates research in the humanities and the social and/or natural sciences, a cutting-edge development in the field.

Our rich and interdisciplinary faculty include 7 core members, numerous joint appointments, more than 15 affiliates and over 120 scholars from around the University who are allied with our department.  In addition, the Department actively collaborates with other units on campus - most notably the legendary Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction - in joint initiatives, conferences and colloquia, and special events.

The menu to your left provides more details about our Ph.D. program. For further information, please e-mail gender@indiana.edu.
