PhD Minor
PhD Minor in Folklore
The PhD minor in Folklore consists of 12 credit hours of coursework (four graduate courses). At least three (3) credit hours must be in one of the required courses: F516, F517, F523, or F525. The remaining three (3) courses must be approved by the Director of the Folklore Institute. There is no doctoral minor exam.
PhD Minor in Ethnomusicology
The PhD minor in Ethnomusicology supplements degrees from other departments and schools at IU. Doctoral students may obtain a minor in ethnomusicology by completing 12 credit hours (4 courses), including two of the five core courses (E522, F523, F529, E714, and F740) and two other courses chosen after discussion with the Director of the Ethnomusicology Institute. There is no doctoral minor exam.
