Undergraduate Advising

Our advisors are knowledgeable in all aspects of our program and can help majors plan courses of study. In addition, they are wonderful resources of information about scholarships, overseas study programs, internships, creative writing groups, literary magazines and other enrichment opportunities. All our English majors are encouraged to take every opportunity to avail themselves of our advisors.

Advising Resources

Academic Advisement Report (AAR): Your AAR is a personalized report explaining your requirements and progress toward your degree. To view your AAR, go to the student center in OneStart at http://onestart.iu.edu. Under the "My Academics and Grades" tab click on the "View My Academic Advisement Report" link.

Seniors: Apply to graduate at http://college.indiana.edu/recorder/appinfo.shtml well in advance of your expected graduation date. Schedule an advising appointment before enrolling for your final semester to be sure you are meeting degree requirements.

Declaring a minor, second major, or certificate outside English: If you would like to declare a major, minor, or certificate in another College department, see the respective department or program advisor(s) listed at http://www.college.indiana.edu/undergrad/advising.shtml. To declare non-College of Arts and Sciences minors and certificates, please check with us for information.
