| There are some sixty members of the English faculty, with interests in teaching and research that reflect the diversity of subdisciplines that comprise the fields of English and Celtic language and literature today. In addition to offering courses and pursuing research in all historical periods, from the earliest Anglo-Saxon period (as well as medieval Welsh and Irish) to the twenty-first century, they specialize in creative writing, composition and literacy, cultural studies, literature and gender, literary theory, language studies, drama, theatre, and performance studies, world literatures in English, and interdisciplinary studies, such as literature and science, and literature and philosophy. Some of the interests of particular groups of faculty are described under "Departmental Interest Groups" and "Affiliated Groups" in the navigation to the left. |
