Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area comprises about 0.6% of the Republic of Korea's land mass, but is home to over 10.4million of the country's population with 47,470,969 residents. The Han River bisects the city into two roughly equal parts, northern and southern Seoul. While the city grew rapidly in land mass through the early 1970's, administrative reorganization in 1973 has curbed further expansion. Seoul has one of the highest population densities in the world, 17,157 persons/km2 and is the fifth largest city in the world. The city enjoys four distinctive seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The annual average temperature in Seoul is 12.9C (55F). Temperatures tend to fluctuate a great deal, reaching as high as 36.1C (97F) in the summer and dropping as low as -13.7C (7F) in the winter. During the midsummer period the city often records daily highs of over 30C (86F) with very high humidity. Seoul averages 1,210.2 mm (47.6 inches), which is more than the average amount of rainfall across the peninsula. Most of the rainfall is concentrated in the rainy months (monsoon period) of June through September when downpours account for about 70 % of the total annual precipitation.-BE PREPARED!!!!
