Vice President and Dean Wimbush encourages the IU community to participate in the 2014 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration. The submission deadline is approaching for celebration contests and funding opportunities as well as for submitting events to the MLK Jr. Day Celebration calendar.

Bloomington King Commission announces funding for "A Day On! Not A Day Off"
Funding is available to organizations with creative projects for volunteers on or around January 20, 2014, and during the 40 Days of Peace period.  Deadline to request funding is Nov. 15, 2013.

King Day 2014 essay/video competition
This year commemorates the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 1963 "I Have A Dream" speech.  IU Bloomington students are invited to submit an original written or video essay about their dreams for our future.  Submission deadline is Nov. 22, 2013.
