15th annual Indiana Latino Leadership Conference call-out

Saturday, November 16, 2013

The Indiana Latino Leadership Conference celebrates the uniqueness of Latina/o students in a forum by and for students. This forum seeks to cultivate the exchange of ideas, values, and beliefs in order to promote scholarship, leadership development, and empowerment of Indiana’s college and high school Latina/os.

This year the conference will take place at the IU Bloomington campus on Sat., Mar. 1, 2014.  The theme is "Looking Back, Looking Ahead."

Workshop proposals are due Jan. 9, 2014. Workshops should examine historical contexts that have shaped our community as well as the present state of Latinos and projections for the future. Examples may include: immigration experiences, policies, assimilation, and Latino potential in various sectors.

The conference hosts over 350 Latino high school and college students from across the state of Indiana. Exhibitors are sought to share with attendees information on colleges/universities, scholarships, career opportunities, internships, and Latino organizations.  Exhibitor booths must be reserved by Feb. 13.

More information about the conference, including registration information, can be found at the conference website.
