Graduate Assistantships

The Center for the Study of the Middle East (CSME) has two Student Academic Appointment (SAA) Graduate Assistant (GA) positions available each academic year, requiring 20 hours of work per week.  This position includes fee remission, health insurance, and a stipend.

 

Applicants must have an academic research interest in the Middle East, and preferably have knowledge of Arabic, but other regional languages acceptable as well.  These positions require someone who can work with CSME staff and fellow GAs in a team setting, as well as the ability to take charge of projects and work independently. Ideal applicants will be flexible to the needs and demands of a new center.

 

Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to perform a wide range of tasks as needed, assisting the center’s directors as needed. The GAs should be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite 2007 and/or 2010, with experience with Adobe Creative Suites CS4 and/or CS5.
