Students wanting to receive funding from BOG must complete a Project Proposal form, which can be found in the Duty Office or obtained by emailing Jamie Becker, the VP of Collins for BOG (username: jkbecker). These Project Proposal forms must be completed and turned into Jamie Becker’s mailbox by the Wednesday before a Sunday BOG meeting for the Project Proposal to be heard at that meeting. Once a Project Proposal form has been completed, the student submitting the proposal should come to the BOG meeting to answer any questions the Floor Governors may have about the proposal.
For proposals that have a “per-head cost” (ex: a floor dinner, play tickets, etc), participants will usually be expected to pay a small amount of their own money. As such, residents requesting funds for events that have a “per-head cost” should include the “per-head cost” on their Project Proposal forms. Funding will then be approved on a per-person basis (for example, a play that costs $10 a ticket could be approved at $7 per-person up to ten people for a total of $70). Residents are encouraged to plan programs and come to BOG to receive money, as the resources used come from student activity fees all Collins residents must pay at the beginning of the year. After an event has been held, the student planning the event should then fill-out a short Feedback Form, which will be provided at the meeting in which money is approved.
