Conference Meet-ups

Dr. Smith and her graduate students and postdoctoral researchers attend numerous conferences here in the U.S. and abroad. These conferences provide opportunites for presenting data, broading understanding of research areas and connecting with former students and collaborators.

Poster Presentations

Each semester, our undergraduate research assistants make a poster for their final project. The poster represents the research they worked on during the semester. During an informal presentation session, they must explain the data and their results to Dr. Smith and other participants who view their poster.

Congratulations and Farewell

Every semester the Smith Lab has cause to celebrate accomplishments of their lab members! Sometimes those accomplishments are successful summer student internships. Often we celebrate the achievement of our graduate students as they earn their PhD. And we raise our glasses and bid farewell to those who find jobs and move on to become famous!

Recruitment Events

We often have a recruitment table at family community events in order to recruit new subjects. We wear our 'Child Scientist' t-shirts and explain to parents how they can help early child development research by participating in studies.
