Tinker Field Research Grants : Funding Opportunities

Tinker Funds have been confirmed and Students are now welcome to apply for funding.

We are pleased to announce that CLACS was awarded the Tinker Graduate Student Field Research Grant, 2007-08 (renewable for two more years). Combined with matching funds from College of Arts and Science, the Tinker grant will allow us to support more pre-dissertation research fieldwork in Latin America.

Eligible candidates: IU graduate students in their early graduate careers (this is NOT a dissertation grant) who are working in a Latin American country (specifically a Spanish or Portuguese-speaking one) The student must be working with a social science perspective and with possible policy implications (ex: archeology, cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, development, education, economy, trade, environmental studies, history, human rights, international relations, policy analysis, political science, public administration, public health and sociology).

Awards: Between $1,000-1500 will be available to cover costs of airfare and some expenses for about 6 weeks of field work.
