Dec. 2, 2008: The report Evaluation of Indiana Charter Schools Effectiveness and Efficiency was released by CEEP on November 21st. In July of 2007, the Center for Evaluation and Education Policy (CEEP) at Indiana University was contracted by the Indiana General Assembly to conduct an evaluation of the Indiana charter schools. The report addresses research questions with respect to charter school enrollment patterns and policies, funding patterns and sources, innovations in charter schools, impacts on neighboring school corporations and the educational landscape in general, accountability and performance of charter schools on achievement measures, and the effectiveness of the support provided by charter school authorizers

Nov. 19, 2008: Single-Sex Education in the 21st Century is the newest CEEP Education Policy Brief. This complex topic is relevant to educators and parents, and it is an initiative back in vogue. The policy brief addresses the genesis and legality of single-sex classrooms, as well as the merits and critiques of single-sex education, and aims to avoid research or claims that are based on gender stereotypes. The research that supports and opposes single-sex education is examined. And, recommendations concerning single-sex education are offered for educators and policymakers to consider.
