Things to Know: If the contract & grant (C&G) account selected for budget construction update has an
expiration date of June 2, 2009 or later, the funding lines will be included in the official
budget load.  Subsequent changes to this information must be made through the use of
  e-Docs.

If the C&G account selected for budget construction update is an account that expired

on or prior to June 1, 2009, the account must have a valid C&G continuation account.
Any funding lines entered on the expired account will automatically roll to the C&G
continuation account as part of the budget load process.  All update records to C&G
accounts that have expired on or prior to June 1, 2009 that do not have a valid
continuation account will load to the expired account.

The Office of Research Administration will coordinate with the University Budget Office

to monitor C&G accounts used in budget construction which will expire prior to June 1,
2009.  Many C&G accounts which are slated to expire prior to June 1, 2009, will receive
extensions or underwrites over the next few months through the natural grant cycle.
The remaining C&G accounts will be reviewed by Research Administration in late May
and updated as necessary to ensure the that budget load occurs smoothly.  Therefore,
it should not be necessary for units to request extensions or underwrites on C&G
  accounts for budget construction purposes.
