Testing Services
BEST administers placement exams in mathematics and foreign language to thousands of incoming freshmen each year. We also administer the Graduate School Foreign Language Exam for French, German, and Spanish to graduate students who need to show proficiency in those languages for degree requirements.
In addition, BEST serves as a test administration site for a number of national exams, providing convenient local access to the SAT, GRE, PRAXIS, LSAT, and other widely-used admissions and certification exams.

CBT Parking Information
Examinees are responsible for knowing and understanding where they can park legally for testing appointments. The following general guidelines apply:
- Pay Parking (Monday through Friday until 5:00 p.m.)—Free parking on campus and on city streets is NOT available during regular University business hours. Temporary parking permits for $6.00 (cash or check only - no credit/debit cards) can be purchased at the testing center on the day of testing. Park in the Henderson Garage (300 South Henderson at Indiana Avenue) or the Poplars Building Garage (400 block of East 6th Street), and show the temporary parking permit to the parking attendant when you exit.
- Free Parking (Monday through Friday after 5:00 p.m. only; Saturday and Sunday all day)—Free parking after regular University business hours only and on weekends is available in two faculty/staff parking lots adjacent to Franklin Hall. One lot is directly across Indiana Avenue from Franklin Hall between Kirkwood Avenue and East 6th Street and behind the Von Lee Building. The other is between East 6th and 7th Streets and behind the International Programs Building. Park at any A or C-zoned space. Do not park at a meter or 24-hour reserved space. Free parking is restricted to these two lots only during the times indicated.
- Parking in university lots without a valid parking permit during regular business hours will result in the vehicle behind ticketed and possibly towed. Please see the campus map at www.iub.edu or call the testing center at (812) 856-0684 for more information about parking.
