- Dan Sumner - Co-Founder and guitarist for PermaGrin based in New Orleans. Sumner also works as an assistant instructor at the IU Jacobs School of Music while pursuing a Ph.D. He plays locally in the Dan Sumner Trio. Visit www.permagrin.us for more info.

- The audience will serve as a judge for Round 1. Each person that pays a cover charge will receive one ballot to cast a vote for the guitarist they think should be named IU's Hoosier Guitar Idol 2009. Additional ballots can be purchased. The contestant which receives the most audience votes will receive 10 points, second place 9 points, and so on. The audience judging element will only be in effect for Round 1!
