IU is dedicated to preserving green spaces, and as a result parking is limited on campus. IU students manage very well without cars, and most students walk, bike, or ride the bus to campus. You’ll find many safe and easy ways to get around.

Free Safe Rides
From 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights while school is in session, the IU campus bus service provides free, safe rides directly to students’ residences. The IU Safety Escort Service provides van rides to and from campus buildings and on- and off-campus housing. Students should call 855-SAFE
Accessibility
The campus bus fleet is 100 percent accessible. All buses are equipped with a kneeling feature and a wheelchair ramp. Students, staff, and faculty with disabilities can also apply to use BTAccess bus service through Bloomington Transit.
Motorist Assistance Program
If your battery dies, you lock your keys in your car, or you get a flat tire, the Motorist Assistance Program (MAP) will help you. Call (812) 855-9849 from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., Monday through Friday.
