If you are looking for a personal connection, the Parents Association can help you forge one.
All parents automatically become members when their child enrolls. There is a biannual newsletter, Campus Link, and the organization sponsors parent/student events throughout the year: Parent Resource Center during summer orientation and registration, and Parents Weekend and Freshman Family Weekend in the fall.
You can contact the director of the Parents Association to help you with any special concerns you may have while your child is a student at Indiana University Bloomington.
Indiana University Bloomington’s Parent Association, in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, and offices across the university, serves as a resource for parents and families while they support their students to take increasing responsibility for their journey in learning and personal growth. Our parent programs, publications, and events strive to make parents and families part of our community.
To support our mission and the mission of Indiana University, we are committed to:
• Provide parents with timely information about Indiana University Bloomington services, programs, and opportunities that could further their child’s academic success and well-being as well as benefit members of their family.
• Courteously serve as the first-stop inquiry center for Indiana University Bloomington parents and families.
• Promote meaningful engagement of parents and families in the life of campus by developing programs and events of interest to parents, especially those that would help with the transition to college.
Members of the Parents Board advise and assist the dean of students with fundraising for various campus initiatives that benefit all students and planning of sponsored events like Parents Weekend. The board, which is appointed by the dean of students, is comprised parents of IU Bloomington students from across the country and meets twice a year.
