Podcasts, Blogs and Wikis: New Tools for Education (repeat workshop)

Thu Jun 8, 1:30-3:30 Wells LIB 305

Register Now!

Everybody's talking about three new Internet-based technologies: podcasts, blogs, and wikis. Not to mention coursecasting, videoblogs, vcasts, and screencasts. What do all these new terms mean, and how can I apply them in my teaching, you may be asking yourself. This workshop, presented by the Instructional Consulting office, with input from the Teaching & Learning Technologies Centers, will focus on these new tools for teaching and learning. We will define these terms, provide examples of educational applications, and answer questions from the faculty audience (associate instructors welcome, too!).

As part of the presentation,. Chris Essex will describe his experiences with his "Teach with Tech" podcast series (http://www.indiana.edu/~icy/podcast/).

Presented by Chris Essex, Jung Won Hur, Jingli Cheng and Karen Hallett from the Office of Instructional Consulting, IU School of Education, and Mark Millard from the Teaching & Learning Technologies Centers.

To register, visit the TLTC web page (http://www.indiana.edu/~tltc) and click on the "Workshops" link. Seating will be limited to 25 participants, and we're more than half full already!
